Lalitha Sahasranama starts with Dhyanam

సింధూరారుణ విగ్రహాం త్రినయనాం, మాణిక్యమౌళి స్ఫుర
త్తారానాయక శేఖరాం, స్మితముఖీమ్, ఆపీన వక్షోరుహాం |
పాణిభ్యామళిపూర్ణ రత్నచషకం, రక్తోత్పలం బిభ్రతీo
సౌమ్యాం, రత్న ఘటస్థ రక్తచరణాం, ధ్యాయేత్ పరాంబికాం ||

Source of Sri Lalitha Sahasranama
The Lalita Sahasranama is said to have been composed by the eight vaag devis(Vasini, Kameshvari, Aruna, Vimala, Jayani, Modini, Sarveshvari, and Kaulini) upon the command of the goddess Lalita herself.
The sahasranama says that "One can worship Lalitha only if she wishes us to do so." This stotra occurs in the Brahmanda Purana (history of the universe) in the chapter of discussion between Hayagriva and Sage Agastya[2].
Hayagriva is an incarnation of Vishnu with the head of a horse and is held to be the storehouse of knowledge. Agastya is one of the sages of yore and one of the stars of the constellation Saptarishi (Ursa major). At the request of Agastya, Hayagriva is said to have taught him the thousand holiest names of Lalita.
The temple at Thirumeyachur, near Kumbakonam, is said to be where Agastya was initiated into this sahasranama. An alternative origin is that the Upanishad Bramham Mutt at Kanchipuram is where this initiation happened.

Must read Spiritual Books
I have read many Spiritual Books till today in my life, but only few books took me into deep into it and made me understand about the Spirituality and the real purpose of one's life.
The Most influenced Spiritual Book in my life is definitely " The Laws of the Spirit World" written by Khorshed Bhavnagari.
About the Book:
In 1980, Khorshed and her husband Rumi Bhavnagri lost their sons Vispi and Ratoo in a car accident. Within a month and through a chain of people, they received a message that their sons wanted to communicate with them and they spoke to the boys through a medium, and were assured of their well-being.
They had reached the Spirit World immediately and had been welcomed by their beloved grandfather, Popsie. The boys asked their parents to develop powers of concentration, so they could communicate safely and privately together through the method of automatic writing. In this way Vispi and Ratoo were able to advise and guide their parents constantly and give them their mission on Earth - to comfort and help people in need, to spread spiritual knowledge and how to stay on the Godly Good Path always.
The book - "The Laws of the Spirit World" - was communicated by Vispi and Ratoo through the technique of telepathy to their mother and simultaneously reduced into writing by her. Topics from the book and other messages are contained in the VRRP Spiritual Learning Newsletters. In 2007 Khorshed Bhavnagri joined her family in the Spirit World, but her work is being continued by the VRRP Group. The Bhavnagri’s story in detail is in the book.
